If you are from the Houston area there is no doubt that you have spotted that iconic Ferris wheel while driving along I-45. Well, that Ferris wheel calls its home the Downtown Aquarium and it is just one of the many exciting attractions in the area.
Downtown Aquarium is mostly known as being a restaurant, but it truly is a place where you can have some theme-park-like fun. With an all-day pass, there are a number of activities that you can partake in.
The Shark Voyage Train
Trains are fun and sharks are exciting, but what happens when you combine the two? Well, that’s when you get the Shark Voyage Train. This is a metro rail train that will take you and your family for a thrill ride through the aquarium’s 200,000-gallon shark tank that is stuffed full of real-live sharks.

Hit Up Stingray Reef
Stingrays are notoriously dangerous, but with an all-day pass, you can actually interact with the species in a fun and safe environment. In fact, you can actually reach out and pet them where they are contained in a pool.
The animals are actually quite friendly when it comes right down to it. They will swim right up to you like they are begging for your attention. However, an attraction like this is probably better suited for older children as it might freak out younger kids.

The Splash Pad
The Splash Pad is probably the most well-kept secrets about the aquarium, but it is also probably one of the funniest things to do in the entire place. The kids will especially love this little activity. You can walk right onto the area and get splashes with streaming water that juts up from the ground. There is no entrance fee and public restrooms are located nearby where you can change into dry clothes. have a peek here
